GOD IS STILL DOING GOOD

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. Acts 10:38 (NIV)
The third King of Israel Solomon made a very profound statement,’ What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again, there is nothing new under the sun.’ Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV)
That is very true even today as we witness the amount of evil in our world, communities and homes as well. It is no secret that there is indeed a presence of darkness that keeps people captive and leads them into doing vile acts as we all see daily on our televisions, social media and even on our streets.
The chief architect is none other than the devil himself, but there is hope through Jesus, who is doing the exact opposite, He is doing good!
The scriptures teach us that,’ Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever’ Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)
The same Jesus who went around healing the sick, making the blind see, opening the ears of the deaf, feeding the hungry, forgiving sin, He is still in the business of doing good to all who are willing to accept his message.
You see we are so used to hearing bad stuff, witnessing killings, families falling apart, children turning against their parents and vice versa , nation against nation, name it.
There is a lot that drains out the notion that good still prevails, but yes it does and that is the good news that we preach and teach, that Jesus Christ is in our midst, right now, in our homes, in our churches, we just need to be like the tax collector who when Jesus told him that he would stay at his house, he didn’t object but gladly opened the doors wide open,’ When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, ‘ Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today. So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly’ Luke 19:5 (NIV)

Just like he did in those days, Jesus is moving around, he is on the mission to bring healing, restoration, forgiveness, newness and every good thing you can imagine to all who open the doors of their hearts to receive him.
Like Zacchaeus, you don’t have to have it all together, you just come as you are. He is equipped with every tool to fix every broken piece in your life and put you back together to where he intended you to be.
Will you give him your life today? You might even be a church goer, maybe you sing in the choir, serve in the ministry and all that good stuff. Maybe you have been slowly declining in your faith or you don’t even want anything to do with God.

Today just come as you are, he is here right now and waiting to work in your life, not only for you but he wants to partner with you to bring others out of the pits of oppression, depression, despair, sin and brokenness into his light and life eternal.

Prayer:
Dear God, I come to you, the way I am, I surrender my hurts and pain to you and you alone. Come into my life, come shine your light and breathe life into every area of my life that needs restoration. Help me to walk with you and give me the grace to forgive and also bring others like me into your presence. In the name of your son Jesus, I pray. Amen
