Do you see Jesus?

Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. Mark 9:8
When you go to worship what do you see around you, is it the magnificent building or the band? Is it the smoke or lights?

When you preach a message, when you live your life, what do people see?

I pray that when all is said and done, we can see Jesus…

He is here, right where you are, in the valley, on the mountain top….

May you see Jesus today as you navigate life
Nice weekend

Don’t forget just yet

Mark 8:17 -21

Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? 18 Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”
“Twelve,” they replied.
20 “And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?”
They answered, “Seven.”
21 He said to them, “Do you still not understand?”
Prayer

Lord please forgive us for the unbelief and quickly forgetting what you have done and  are doing even now.

It’s a test

But he knows the way that I take;

when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

Job 23:10 (NIV)
Not so many of us have experienced the severity of suffering Job in the scriptures endured. From losing everything he had worked for, to losing his family, friends judging him for his misfortune, oh and not forgetting the constant, painful and physical affliction on his body for all to see. Job had every right to complain, whine, point fingers and even curse God which was suggested to him by his wife, but he didn’t.

In the midst of all the pain and difficulty, Job found something others would not see. He got a revelation that God was with him in this fire, he was being tested but this test was not to fail him, expose his weaknesses, or bring him down, it was to bring the best out of him. His character would be purified and his faith in God would go to another level.

What are you going through today? It probably seems like there is no end or way out of it. Before you throw in the towel on faith, before you curse God and every one around you, before you make permanent conclusions on this temporary situation, Please know that this could be a test.

The hotter the fire, the finer you will come out. Allow God to squeeze and reveal  to you everything about you through your situation or crisis. There is a lot to learn in times of trial, there is always a solution in every problem.

Seek him diligently, be quiet for a moment and listen to the voice of God even as he purifies you in and out.

The victory is yours and you win on the other side of the furnace!

Blessings,

Andrew

It’s coming to Life

IT’S COMING TO LIFE!
Son of man, can these bones live?”

I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Ezekiel 37:3-4 (NIV)
The Lord knows that every dry situation in your life can come to life when you open your mouth and speak life to it.

The enemy’s greatest weapon is shutting you down, putting you in a corner and cry about the situation.  Today take control of the situation,  you have authority over the enemy and all the devices he is using against you.

Today I speak life to broken marriages, finances , relationships, dreams , visions , plans, careers and everything we put our hands on. Let there be life!

Lord we thank you for when we pray we believe and receive by faith that you have done it!

All God’s people say!!!!

God is still doing Good

I was recently asked to write an outreach Devotional for a city wide evangelism drive in Oddessa, Texas by great man of God Pastor Donny Kyker, am so humbled to be among the 40 pastors chosen for the 40 day devo…Here is my piece,  I pray it blesses and draws you closer to God.

GOD IS STILL DOING GOOD

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. Acts 10:38 (NIV)
The third King of Israel Solomon made a very profound statement,’ What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again, there is nothing new under the sun.’ Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV)
That is very true even today as we witness the amount of evil in our world, communities and homes as well. It is no secret that there is indeed a presence of darkness that keeps people captive and leads them into doing vile acts as we all see daily on our televisions, social media and even on our streets.
The chief architect is none other than the devil himself, but there is hope through Jesus, who is doing the exact opposite, He is doing good!
The scriptures teach us that,’ Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever’ Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)
The same Jesus who went around healing the sick, making the blind see, opening the ears of the deaf, feeding the hungry, forgiving sin, He is still in the business of doing good to all who are willing to accept his message.
You see we are so used to hearing bad stuff, witnessing killings, families falling apart, children turning against their parents and vice versa , nation against nation, name it.
There is a lot that drains out the notion that good still prevails, but yes it does and that is the good news that we preach and teach, that Jesus Christ is in our midst, right now, in our homes, in our churches, we just need to be like the tax collector who when Jesus told him that he would stay at his house, he didn’t object but gladly opened the doors wide open,’ When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, ‘ Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today. So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly’ Luke 19:5 (NIV)

Just like he did in those days, Jesus is moving around, he is on the mission to bring healing, restoration, forgiveness, newness and every good thing you can imagine to all who open the doors of their hearts to receive him.
Like Zacchaeus, you don’t have to have it all together, you just come as you are. He is equipped with every tool to fix every broken piece in your life and put you back together to where he intended you to be.
Will you give him your life today? You might even be a church goer, maybe you sing in the choir, serve in the ministry and all that good stuff. Maybe you have been slowly declining in your faith or you don’t even want anything to do with God.

Today just come as you are, he is here right now and waiting to work in your life, not only for you but he wants to partner with you to bring others out of the pits of oppression, depression, despair, sin and brokenness into his light and life eternal.

Prayer:
Dear God, I come to you, the way I am, I surrender my hurts and pain to you and you alone. Come into my life, come shine your light and breathe life into every area of my life that needs restoration. Help me to walk with you and give me the grace to forgive and also bring others like me into your presence. In the name of your son Jesus, I pray. Amen

The God who keeps his promise

THE GOD WHO FULFILLS….(Lessons from Samson)
The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew and the Lord blessed him, and the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him while he was in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
Judges 13:24-25 (NIV)
The Lord indeed fulfilled his promise, the baby was born and fast forward, the Lord indeed blessed him and as the scripture states, the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him in his community and surroundings.
Even before he started destroying the enemies of the Lord, God was already working in Samson’s life and those around him noticed. As a result we are reporting that even today!
When the Lord blesses, as his word says, he adds no sorrow to it,
‘The blessing of the LORD makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it..’ Proverbs 10:22 ( ESV)

Our take away today is:
1.God indeed fulfills his promise on time, even in our lives God will fulfill his promises concerning us regardless of how long it may look…the baby takes 9 months! from personal experience that is not a quick process, you have to be patient.
2. Samson grew and the Lord blessed him, naturally he had to grow physically, and from what we know or imagine he was a strong man with muscle! that is one side to it though, for him to carry out  his mission as a Nazirite, he had to be trained and separated for that specific office, the scripture says, ‘ He grew and the Lord blessed him!’
If we are to receive the Lord’s blessing, we need to grow in all aspects relating to our calling or goal.
3. The Spirit of the Lord began to stir him!, You see it is a process, one step at a time, wherever you are or what your calling is, there is a set order of things, in order to be promoted you have to earn the promotion, in order to be noticed you have to excel among your peers, you have to be exceptional!
God indeed fulfills his promises and I pray that as you wait patiently, you will grow into everything that God intends for you and his purposes.
Have a blessed great weekend, more from Samson next week!

The God who changes things

image

Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean. You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines
Judges 13:4-5

Not only will Samson be a miracle baby born to a barren couple in a difficult time spiritually,  economically and politically but he will also be a chosen one before the Lord, a Nazirite!
When we are going through hard times in life, we will say,  ‘ God if you can just bless me with anything that will bring a smile or comfort to my soul, just give me any man with two legs and a Job! Even if it’s a just a dollar increase to my hourly rate, I will take it Lord! I need a car it doesn’t have to be fancy as long as it will take me from point A to B, just do it Now!

But no! When God decides its time to bless, he will bring the best from his vault. He will give you more than what you even asked for, according to his riches in Glory.

Now as we wait for his blessing and promise to be realised,  we need to prepare. Just like a farmer, we need to weed out the garden, we need to let go of certain things that might abort the blessing that God is about to release in our life.
For Samson’s mom, she wouldn’t touch wine or eat anything unclean, Once born, his hair would not be shaved, he was to be a special vessel unto the Lord to defeat his enemies.
Question: are you ready for what you are praying for, is your garden ready and cleared for the seed to be planted?
God is ready are you?

The God who remembers

image

Again the Israelite’s did evil in the eyes of the Lord, so the Lord delivered them into the hands of the Philistines for forty years.

A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the clan of the Danites, had a wife who was childless, unable to give birth. The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son. Judges 13:1-3

In the midst of a daily life of fear, oppression and uncertainity, a couple cannot have a child. Maybe a child would bring a little joy into their already dark life without the past encounters with God and victory over their enemies, but not so.
One thing for sure is that God does not forget his own! He remembers and handpicks  Manoah and his wife to produce a deliverer for his people Israel.
God does it in unique form, the news comes through a heavenly messenger, an angel from above! how cool is that?

There is no situation that God cannot overturn, however long it may take, however dark it may look, God always has his eyes on his own. As we learn from the life story of Samson, I pray God will visit you, your family, your situation in a very unique way that will change the course of your journey for the better and for his glory.

Don’t look too far!

image

Have you ever misplaced your keys and just can’t find them, no matter how you look?
Well this morning I looked for over one hour and a half looking in the small area where I thought my car  keys would be. My mind started wandering in places where the keys weren’t and I knew it too but I went anyway.
I couldn’t help but think about how many of us look everywhere else for love, satisfaction, comfort, self-esteem, success, Joy, Peace, name it…While what we are looking for, is right where we are.
As we start this week, before you start looking elsewhere,  before you abandon your loved ones, before you give up on your dream, passion and goals, take a deeper look at the people God has placed around you, look at the resources he has given you. You might need to lift pillows, move furniture around,  but it will be worth it! Precious things are not found on the surface,  you have to dig deep and you will be suprised at how close you are to love, joy, peace, satisfaction and to all those things you have always prayed and hoped for.

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 16:19

Everything to God in Prayer

image

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6 (BSB)

It is very easy to complain, cry, whine, ask questions but often times harder to take all our worries, issues, anxieties to the Lord in Prayer. The moment we present our requests, challenges, obstacles to the Lord in prayer, we are saying, ‘God, here is my mountain, debt, hardship, relationship, whatever it is….By myself it will take along time and headache to fix it, but in you all things are possible, please have your way and do what you think is best for my life.
The Apostle Paul even goes further urging us to offer thanksgiving even before our prayers are sent up, Now that is Faith!
As we wrap up this week and prepare for a new one, let us take a step to surrender everything to God and by faith be thankful for all he is about to do in our lives, in his time and way.
