Feed don’t Squeeze Part 1

‘Greater Life Moment Radio Broadcast’

I am sure we are all familiar with the ‘Do you love me’ agitating exchange between Jesus and Peter in John 21:15-19

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”

“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”

17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”

Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. 18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”

Jesus has given the leadership mantle of the church to Peter and he wants him to know what the job is all about.

Four things he highlights:

* FOLLOW ME (v19)

As leaders and those coming up in leadership , the pattern given by Jesus to Peter the first leader of the church should be a blueprint we all follow and keep revisiting as we take on this responsibility
of feeding , tending , feeding and most importantly following Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith .

The Grace to Walk through It

The Grace to Walk through It…..June 2017
Andrew Paul Kizito

We are living in an era where we can get results in minutes, you can now get approved for a mortgage, loan on the spot, get approved for a car online, almost anything these days. The same goes for pastors and preachers promising quick breakthroughs, miracles to their audiences. Some even use God’s name and claim God is telling them to you that your healing is here, your husband is coming, your money is coming etc…(Am not against Genuine Miracles and breakthrough)
Does God work in an instant? I believe he does, does he do it all the time? Not always……. even though he is capable if he chose to. Is he less powerful than he was then? NO
What happened to the life of a believer according to Jesus, he says you will be persecuted, in fact those who follow and believe in him will get 100% of the persecution just as much as the blessing…
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” Mark 10:29-31 (NIV)

We all love Paul, read his letters for inspiration and devotion for growth and establishment in the faith, but look at the life he lived. Constantly persecuted, imprisoned, falsely accused and at one time had to be whisked out of a city in a basket!
But his followers took him by night and lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall. Acts 9:25 (NIV)
Was God with him through all this stuff? Yes he was, was God glorified through all his troubles? Yes he was! The same to all the apostles and other disciples, the only difference is that they asked for Grace and boldness to walk through all this, even as they continued on with their mission of spreading the Gospel of Jesus even when they had every reason to fear and hide.
And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Acts 4:29 (NLT)
God did exactly that, He gave them the grace to walk through even at the darkest times of their lives, they were able to share the gospel with kings, emperors , prisoners, great and small and those who would never have heard it. They established the church, they performed miracles, signs, wonders and brought thousands upon thousands into the kingdom of God and the church grew tremendously!
So while we want to run away from any kind of trouble and have God wave a magic wand and make all our troubles vanish, we need to ask God to give us the grace to walk through it.
David said it best in Psalm 23….Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Psalm 23:4 (AKJV)
The key here is having God with you as you go through….(whatever your situation may be)
While we know David as a mighty warrior, musician, dancer, king and anointed leader, we also realize that his life was not on the mountain top always. When he was going through the valley of death (Hard times in Life) he knew where to look, who to call and most importantly knew that he was not alone and whatever was going on in his life was not going to change the way he looked at God and his faith in him.

Today as you go through, ask God to give you the grace to walk through whatever it is……..after this process you will learn many lessons, you will trust God more than before and will help many, because of your obedience and willingness to walk through it, knowing that God is with you.

Focus, Focus, Focus

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, Phillippians 3:13 (New Living Translation)

Happy New Year to you all my dear friends, partners and followers of this ministry…. We are already here and the journey has began. This is the month when almost everyone lays out their plans for the year, write long lists of what they want to achieve, nothing wrong with it, the scriptures tells us to write down the vision and make it plain Habakuk 2:2,

The challenge though is not the lack of ideas or the willingness to execute……I think it is the lack of focus, you will realize that the more deep we get into the month, the more distractions, uncertainties, disappointments creeping in and more….But just like our verse for today, I like this translation, it says,’ but I focus on this one thing…..’ The key is ‘Focus’ Regardless of what does not work today or the next, stay focused on your goal….

Now the scriptures gives us a hint that there is indeed a good future ahead…the promises of God we haven’t seen are all in our future, that business you dream about is ahead of you, that academic achievement is ahead of you, new relationships, name it…..you just have to stay focused and keep moving forward. This is going to be a great year! Blessings, Andrew Paul Kizito http://www.andrewkizito.com

Mas-Christ (More of Christ this Christmas!

I was talking to a young man this  morning who looked so sad, I asked why and he told me no one gave him a present, I asked if he had given a gift to anybody,  he said no because he was saving his money…I almost told him that maybe his family/friends are saving their money too!

Then by driving downtown and seeing how people are flocking the malls to make last minute shopping,  I feel like we have materialized this whole Christmas celebration,  to many it is about what they are getting or giving in exchange for what they want or expect from the next person.

Nothing wrong with any of this but when the message is lost in between, I think we probably need to give it another name.

My prayer is that we use this time and season to reflect on the greatest gift of all, how he gave of himself for us all, how he taught us to love, forgive, show compassion and most importantly serve others.

So before we complain about the size, brand or what we didn’t get….let’s be thankful of what we already have.  Let’s be  thankful for  the ability to even open and enjoy these gifts,

Let’s be thankful for  these relationships we have,

Let’s be thankful that Jesus stripped himself of all so that we can have a relationship with God….

Merry Christmas to you all my friends

Where is your trust?

Stop trusting in mere humans who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem

    Isaiah 2:22
It is very easy to put our entire trust in people because of their  ability or opportunity they have to help us in our journey of life.

The downside to this is that they could die, lose their fortune, change their mind or even commit to somebody else or project.

When we fully trust in God, he will cause people to come our way and execute his purpose for our life.

Before you get mad at who wasn’t there, who didn’t help the way you wanted. Please know that it is God who moves the right people to be involved in our lives.

Today whether you see it or not, God has placed people in your life to help, encourage,  uplift , comfort and be a blessing to. Ask the Lord to show you who they are or to open your eyes and do the needful.

Have a blessed day as you be a blessing to someone one else.

You just need to call!

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth

Psalm 145:18 (NIV)

There is no exception, he gives all of us the opportunity to reach and touch him and as we do, he will touch us too.

We need to do this sincerely, right from where we are in life and faith…Every one has their own journey and level in faith.

Don’t try to be who you are not or somebody else, the promise is that ‘All’ who who call on him will be heard, and he will draw himself close to them.

Happy weekend to you as you worship and seek to him more.
